You will gain comprehensive knowledge in all relevant areas of education and will be well prepared to take on responsible tasks in daycare centers and schools. This course is also ideal for career changers with little basic knowledge of German. It offers you a solid foundation for starting your career and opens up a wide range of prospects for the future.

Full or part-time
In 6 or 14 months: much shorter than a course of study or dual training.

The training is aimed at people who are looking for a job with meaning and want to support others in their everyday lives.

Interest in working with children
You don't need to have any experience with children, but you should be interested in supporting and accompanying children in daycare centers and schools.

Determination to participate

This is how the training is structured

Block 1:
Basics of digital communication

Topic: MS Office, standard school and daycare software.

Target: Acquisition of basic computer skills and digital communication techniques for everyday teaching.

Block 2:
Socio-educational action

Topic: Introduction to pedagogy, attachment and relationship work, child development and developmental psychology.

Target: Teaching of basic pedagogical knowledge, development of skills for bonding and relationship work as well as an in-depth understanding of child development processes.

Block 3:
Pedagogical principles

Topic: Introduction to pedagogy, child development, social pedagogy.

Target: Teaching basic knowledge of pedagogical work, understanding of development processes and application of socio-pedagogical concepts.

Block 4:
Legal and ethical principles

Topic: Child and youth protection, data protection, ethics.

Target: Knowledge of the legal framework and ethical principles in pedagogical work.

Block 5:
Methodology and didactics

Topic: Teaching and learning methods, planning of educational activities.

Target: Ability to independently plan and implement educational programs.

Block 6:
Inclusion and communication

Topic: Inclusive pedagogy, communication with parents.

‍Target: Promoting inclusion and improving communication skills in an educational context.

Block 7:
Practical application and supervision

Topic: Internship, supervision, job application training.

‍Target: Applying what you have learned in practice, reflecting on your experiences and preparing for your career entry.

Block 8:
Optional German language support

Topic: Vocational language teaching.

‍Target: Improving language skills in typical pedagogical situations.

Further training as a “learning and development assistant” prepares you for various professions with children. This gives you the choice and keeps you flexible. Here are some of the positions you will be qualified for after completing the course:

You help a pupil with special needs to take part in lessons and support them in everyday school life.

Nursery helper

You accompany children in their day-to-day life at the daycare center, play, do handicrafts and encourage their playful development.
